Project

This project began as a standalone new build on land adjacent to the existing property but evolved into a complex structural challenge that connected both homes through a purpose-built garage. The garage itself required specialist design and engineering, as it had to be excavated deep into the hillside while maintaining full structural integrity. Despite the scale and constraints, the Fortis team delivered, completing the entire build with only a three-month extension to the original schedule.

The finished property is a statement in craftsmanship and collaboration: exposed oak beams flow through the open-plan living space, while the first floor has been transformed into a striking office area. The client’s unique taste shaped the final aesthetic, resulting in a home that’s both personal and timeless.

Additional works included widening access roads for deliveries, carefully managed demolition to create a sunken patio, and collaboration with local council and tree protection officers to ensure every detail met the highest standards.

A demanding build, flawlessly executed and one the team remains immensely proud of.
